Quantum Plectrum is the creative vessel of guitarist and composer James Nicholls. James has 30 years of playing experience — from his first studio session at age 13 to stages spanning jazz manouche, funk, soul, rock, and experimental. His music resists easy classification. Compositions draw from a wide orbit: the Quintette du Hot Club de France, Fela Kuti, Frank Zappa, Prince, ELO, Pete Rock, Jaga Jazzist, and many others. The result is wholly instrumental, deeply felt, and genre-agnostic by design.
